Pace, footwork and game management – Dorking's back division for 2026/27 retains a core of proven National League performers who will look to carry on their form from last season.

"This backline already understands each other, and that continuity counts for a lot at this level. I'm confident we'll keep seeing those combinations develop as we move through the season."

University Squad

Alongside our senior group, a talented group of players are training with Dorking over the summer before heading off to university in the autumn. They'll be pushing hard for shirts through pre-season and will remain part of the wider Dorking family while they're away studying.

"We have created an environment where not only our own University Students want to be a part of, but also some of them from surrounding areas.  Being in a position to upskill and develop these players is a privilege we have alongside them buying into our culture ."

Armand Roux, Director of Rugby

Finlay Candish – Back Row
A Newman College graduate, Finlay joined Dorking this summer to keep his development moving in the right direction ahead of university.

Seb Cox – Fly-half
After playing for Esher in 2025/26 and travelling in Australia through most of 2026, Seb is joining Dorking as his home club while he goes to university.

Tom Isles – Centre
Tom has been central to a lot of pre-season so far this year as he continues to push for a shirt before he heads to university.

Will Darbishire (2) – Centre
The National League-winning Colt, who represented Dorking in our 2025/26 national league campaign, made his debut for USA Under-20s this summer and captained the team against Ireland.

Woody Aldridge – Fly-half
The Dorking National Cup-winning Colt from a few years ago has been putting in the hard yards in preparation for university.
