Men’s Squad Updates: The Backs

Following on from our forwards update earlier this week, we’re delighted to share the list of backs who will once again be returning to the Big Field for the upcoming 2025/26 season.

From experienced campaigners to exciting emerging talent, this year’s backline boasts a fantastic mix of leadership, pace, and creativity. These players have all contributed strongly to the club’s progress and will be key figures as we prepare for another competitive National 2 campaign.

George Jackson

Scrumhalf – 80 Nat 2 Caps
A constant in our backline over the past three seasons, George’s experience and calm decision-making continue to be a real asset. His versatility across multiple positions is key heading into the new season.

Luke Baldwin

Scrumhalf – 14 Nat 2 Caps
Luke’s impact last season extended far beyond the pitch. His communication, professionalism and presence have lifted the group, and we’re thrilled to have him back.

Ben Mackenzie

Fullback / Scrumhalf – 1 Nat 2 Caps
A club stalwart despite being only 24, Ben’s love for the game is obvious. A real threat at 9 or 15 with fearless pace—he always challenges defenders and creates opportunities.

Tom Hardwick

Flyhalf – 25 Nat 2 Caps
Tom grew into the 10 shirt superbly last season, bringing leadership and a calm head under pressure. His vision and execution will again be central to how we play.

Theo Williamson

Wing – 7 Nat 2 Caps
Thrown into the action mid-season last year, Theo impressed with both his finishing and defensive work. He’s fitted in brilliantly and we’re pleased to see him continue his Dorking journey.

Bryan Hotston

Wing – 29 Nat 2 Caps
One of last season’s standout performers. Bryan’s ability under the high ball and defensive instincts have been game-changing. A real asset.

Joe Andressen

Fullback / Wing – 24 Nat 2 Caps
Back to full fitness and currently on international duty with Norway, Joe’s blend of physicality and rugby intelligence will be a boost this season.

Callum Powell

Flyhalf / Centre
After a spell travelling, Callum returns to the squad. A dynamic option at 10 or 12, he’s got all the tools for National League rugby. One to keep a close eye on.

Cameron Cowell

Fullback / Wing - 59 Nat 2 Caps
Cam is excited to get back into action this season after he spent 2/3's of last year returning from ankle surgery.  Cam has been pushing boundries towards the end of 24/25 and a real threat on the ball.

Max Coyle

Full Back – 22 Nat 2 Caps
Max made an immediate impact last season with sharp footwork and great off-the-ball movement. A natural finisher and exciting presence whenever he plays.

Cameron Cowell

Fullback / Flyhalf – 59 Nat 2 Caps
Cam has been on form since returning from injury last season and certainly made a massive impact with all his involvement. With ability to play across the backline Cam is certainly a great asset going into 25/26.

Henry Anscombe

Centre – 64 Nat 2 Caps
Henry returns after wrist surgery with his usual competitive fire. A smart, driven player who always plays with a point to prove—he’ll be an important figure again this season.

Gareth Stephens

Centre / Wing – 2 Nat 2 Caps
Gareth’s pre-season form last year was superb before injury struck. He’s worked hard with the medical team and is on track to make a return—an exciting prospect.

Tom Howe

Centre – 46 Nat 2 Caps
Tom’s creativity and ability to turn half-chances into scores remain invaluable. Another season of Howe magic awaits and can he make it into the National 2 East team of the season again?

Will Sanders

Wing – 28 Nat 2 Caps
Will bounced back brilliantly from a late-season injury last year and is looking sharp. We’re excited to see him back at full tilt.

Finn Rennles

Wing – 1 Nat 2 Caps
Made his mark in a tough away win at Barnes last season. With a year of growth under his belt, Finn is poised for more game time this campaign.

Will King

Wing – 1 Nat 2 Caps
Scored on debut against Worthing during his placement year—now returning from uni and ready to kick on. Strong, fast, and fearless with ball in hand.

Hector Calder

Wing
Hector was close to a debut last year, travelling with the squad regularly. Blessed with serious pace, he’ll be pushing for minutes this season.

Woody Aldridge

Flyhalf – Transitioning Colt
Woody, a key part of our 2024 National Colts Cup–winning side, takes a gap year to step into senior rugby. A composed 10 with a strong kicking game—one to watch closely.

Charlie Aldridge

Centre – Transitioning Colt
Charlie brings electric speed and an eye for the try line. Also part of the Colts’ national success, he’ll be looking to develop further with the senior squad this year.

Director of Rugby, Armand Roux, said:
"It’s fantastic to retain such a talented and dynamic group of backs. From experienced leaders to exciting young prospects, we have a squad capable of playing fast, ambitious rugby. I’m especially pleased to see so many homegrown players continuing their development here, it’s a credit to the club’s pathway."
