Men’s Squad Updates: Welcome to the Family

Following on from our back update earlier this week, we’re delighted to share the list of players who will join Dorking at The Big Field for the upcoming 2025/26 season.

From experienced campaigners to exciting emerging talent, this year’s new boasts a fantastic mix of leadership, experience and aspiration.

George Head – Hooker

George joins Dorking straight after finishing 6 years at Harlequins where he started as loosehead and moved across to Hooker. George is entering the commercial world and agreed to play for Dorking while supporting 1st team ambitions but also supporting the development of so many talented players.

Nick Barry – Prop

Nick joins Dorking from Rams where he had a few appearances last year at tighthead and first caught Armand’s eye in a Surrey under 20’s game 5 years ago. Nick is very much looking forward to joining the Dorking group and will add some great value at Set piece and the loose.

Alfie Ambrose – Back Row

Alfie joins Dorking from Worthing / Hartpury where he was dual registered as back row last season and played with Zak Stephenson at Quins when younger. Alfie is keen to play when available.

Dom Sammut – Second Row

The tall second row joins us from Esher where he gained National 1 experience last season. Dom previously played for Camberley and is looking to support Dorking with our cause this season.

Chris Bird – Back Row / Second Row

Chris played for the Philippines at back row alongside our very own Steve Howorth and has been captaining Camberley the last few seasons. Chris is keen to come and join our cause and of course play with Steve again.

Callum Butler – Back Row

Callum is returning from Uni where he was playing at 7 for Caldy and featured in some Premiership Cup games for them. Callum moved back to Horsham post Uni and Dorking was his first port of call.

Owen Davies – Scrumhalf

Owen briefly joined Dorking on loan as a 9 from Rosslyn Park last year before being recalled and made the decision to come and Join Dorking for the year. Owen also played with our very own Henry Anscombe in years gone past.

Jamie Horner – Scrumhalf

Jamie reached out after listening to Henry Smith talk so much about Dorking that he had to come and join our cause for a season. Jamie has been playing at Sevenoaks at 9 and is of course keen to come and stake a claim for the 9 shirt as the Dorking Style will suit his game.

Thomas Lindsay – Centre

Tom is a Young South African centre who played some age group representative Rugby in SA and recently moved to England and settled in at his new place in Dorking. Tom is keen to learn and make an impact in the Centres, Back three and at 18 years old looks like he should be a back rower.

Harry Barker – Centre

The Australian centre / wing has come up against us in the past 2 seasons playing for Sevenoaks and Bury St Edmunds respectively. Harry is driven as anything and certainly likes our Dorking Way of playing where he most certainly can fit in.

Armand Roux – Director of Rugby

"I’m very pleased with the players that are joining Dorking this season. There is a clear desire and hunger from all of them to come and play for Dorking. More importantly they all want to support Dorking by improving both on field performance and the development of all around them.

Having spoken to all of them and knowing the squad culture makes me pretty excited to see what we can achieve this season.

We have certainly created a good culture at Dorking with more players contacting me on a weekly basis to come and join Dorking and that is a testament to culture, vision and support we have been exhibiting over the last 3 seasons."
