Men’s Squad Updates: The Forwards

Men’s Squad Updates: The Forwards

As pre-season preparations ramp up at the Big Field, we’re thrilled to confirm the group of forwards that have once again committed to Dorking RFC. From experienced campaigners to promising young talent, this core group provides consistency, quality, and a platform for success heading into the new National 2 season.

Charlie Connor

Prop – 40 Nat 2 Caps
An ever-reliable presence, Charlie offers rare versatility on both sides of the scrum. A calm, knowledgeable leader who continues to mentor the next generation of front rowers.

Ollie Rawlinson

Prop – 19 Nat 2 Caps
Ollie has made huge strides this past year. His ability to cover all three front row positions combined with his work rate in defence makes him an invaluable asset.

Callum Watson

Hooker – 34 Nat 2 Caps
Callum’s performances in the second half of last season were top-class. He’s found real rhythm and is thriving in the heart of our pack.

Max Sheldrake

Prop – 34 Nat 2 Caps
Max adds a different dimension to our front row and can play on both sides—technically sound and full of smart touches that often go unnoticed. He’s hungry for more this season.

Bryan Karimanzira

Prop – 10 Nat 2 Caps
Still just 19, Bryan’s toughness was on full display last season. His resilience and potential are clear—he’ll be back in contention this autumn after recovering from injury.

Zak Stephenson

Prop – 31 Nat 2 Caps
Another young player with a bright future. Zak’s scrummaging continues to develop, and he’s becoming a real presence in open play too.

Scott Bloomfield

Prop
A product of our National Colts-winning side in 2024, Scott made the step up with confidence and is progressing strongly within a talented tighthead group.

Freddie Webb

Prop – Transitioning Colt
Freddie brings his own set of dynamism and at 18 is tremendously powerful and mobile already.

Jasper King

Second Row – 67 Nat 2 Caps
One of the most physical second rows in the league, Jasper’s selection in the National 2 East Team of the Year says it all. A proud club product and natural leader.

Will Scholes

Back Row/Second Row – 44 Nat 2 Caps
Scholsey’s impact in both set piece and open play has earned him the captaincy for 2025/26. A driven competitor and excellent role model for younger players.

Steve Howorth

Second Row – 68 Nat 2 Caps
Steve has been part of the Dorking engine room since our first Nat 2 campaign. He continues to lead with physicality and grit—one more big season ahead.

Tom Bloomer

Back Row – 35 Nat 2 Caps
Tom joined 18 months ago and has quickly become one of the squad’s tone-setters. Consistent, driven and always leading by example.

Finn Osborne

Number 8 – 66 Nat 2 Caps
Finn has grown with every season and remains a pillar of our forward pack. Another Youth graduate whose loyalty and consistency speak volumes.

Harry Elbrow

Back Row – 23 Nat 2 Caps
Full of energy and fearless in the contact area, Harry brings edge to our back row. A true club man who never takes a backward step.

Daragh Chambers

Second Row/Back Row – 49 Nat 2 Caps
Daragh is closing in on a deserved 50th cap. His adaptability and attitude make him a reliable option across multiple positions.

Will Goodfellow

Second Row – 3 Nat 2 Caps
Will returned from travelling and slotted straight back in. He’s taken everything in stride and will be one to watch this season.

Arlo Copp

Back Row – 6 Nat 2 Caps
Raw athleticism and fast development saw Arlo earn his first caps last year. He’s continuing to grow and will be pushing hard in 2025/26.

Matt Gwyther

Back Row – 4 Nat 2 Caps
Matty’s had a frustrating run with injuries, but he’s shown real promise in past appearances. We’re looking forward to having him back fit.

Ryan Maguire

Back Row – 4 Nat 2 Caps
Ryan brings a huge amount of energy and positivity to the squad. When called upon last season, he stepped up with real intent.

Director of Rugby, Armand Roux, commented:
“It’s brilliant to retain such a high percentage of our forward pack. The balance between seasoned players and developing talent is exactly where we want to be. These players care deeply about the club and continue to push standards every week. That passion is the foundation for everything we want to build this season.”

Stay tuned for updates on our returning backs, new signings, leadership updates later this week.
