Dorking Women II delivered a powerful and composed performance to secure a 32–19 victory over Eastbourne, maintaining their position at the top of the league in style.

From the opening whistle, Dorking asserted themselves with impressive structure and shape. Their attacking intent was clear early on, and it wasn’t long before the scoreboard began to reflect their dominance. Charlotte Winslet led the charge with a brilliant hat-trick, showcasing pace and finishing ability out wide. Further tries from Lucie Warren, Yasmin Jones, and captain Jasmine Pitt Payne ensured Dorking kept control of the game. Tatiana Dupont added the extras with a conversion.

Despite the scoreline, Eastbourne proved to be a much-improved side, applying strong defensive pressure and competing fiercely at the breakdown. Their work in the rucks disrupted Dorking’s rhythm at times and kept the contest competitive throughout the first half.

The second half saw Eastbourne raise their intensity further, putting Dorking under sustained pressure. However, the league leaders responded with resilience and tactical maturity. Using powerful, direct carries from the forwards, Dorking were able to punch holes in the defensive line before moving the ball wide, where the backs capitalised to finish attacking moves effectively.

Beyond the result, the match was played in excellent spirit, with Dorking once again embodying the values of the rugby community. The team earned praise not only for their performance but also for their sportsmanship, with even the referee remarking that they are “one of the nicest teams in the league.”

A strong win, a statement performance, and another step forward in what is shaping up to be a standout season for Dorking Women II.
