It is estimated that one in four people will experience a mental health illness each year in the UK. For these people, the pressures and strains of life and work can act as a catalyst to mental health problems, with the most common being depression and anxiety.

The links between good physical health and mental health are well recognized. Physical activity such as playing rugby can be very beneficial for mental health and wellbeing as well as bringing physical benefits.

Dorking RFC partnered up with Oakleaf in Guildford.

Oakleaf have been helping communities to manage its mental health since 1995 & Jen Clay from Oakleaf came down to Dorking RFC to support our drive to talk about it.

On two consecutive evenings Jen popped down to the club to talk to senior players, coaching staff, medical team members and colts (boys and girls) about the importance of good mental health.
Dorking Rugby Football club will be launching further awareness for both parents and coaches over the coming months with group virtual sessions as we get support from the Harlequins Foundation and Movember initiatives.
