GURDEEP MANKU

It is with great pleasure we announce that Gurdeep has accepted the position of Bar and Facilities Manager at Dorking Rugby Club.

He will commence his employment on the 13the of June 2022.

Many of our members already know Gurdeep as he has been a pub owner and Landlord in the Dorking area for many years.

From Sept 2008 to April 2020, he was Landlord at the Cricketers and during this time revived what was a run-down pub back to becoming one of the best pubs in Dorking.

Between 2013 and 2015 he took over the iconic Kings Arms when it closed and helped breathe new life into it with brewery Shepherd Neame. He helped renovate the pub and it became an award-winning pub within the Shepherd Neame Group.

He has also been responsible for running a number of events in the Dorking area and been a member of Pub watch, sitting as chairman between 2104 and 2018.

Let’s ensure when we all next meet at our Club we all give him a warm welcome.

NICKY BROWN

Now we must also take this opportunity not only to thank our current Bar and Facilities manager, Nicky for her sterling work and loyalty over the past 16 years, but to thank her for her total support and commitment during this period of handover.

She immediately agreed to assist Gurdeep full time during the remainder of June, be present at a number of events during July, attend two friendlies in August and assist Gurdeep at our first home game. She has also said she will be at the end of her phone if Gurdeep ever needs advice.

Thank you Nicky, we all appreciate everything you have done for the Club and we know you will still support us and pop in for a drink at the other side of the bar on regular basis.
